2 things about bikes in myanmar
1st: never watch soccer on tv and leave your bike unattended - a criminal lion might steal it!
2nd: if you have to steal it back make sure you are in good shape - these lions are mean bastards!

one of the fun games in myanmar - how many nuns do fit in a small taxi? they managed 28 plus the monk and the guy that collects the money in the back. Not to mention 4 in the front - still space left.

that was quite a bussy afternoon. email, icecream, the girls needed to change money, i had to deliver pictures from last year to some friends and than i looked for my other friend. lucky he was in the same place where we had food last year. he was very happy to get the pictures and again no way for me to pay for the food.

than i went quick to the temple next to ad1 - and would you gess:

yes my friends you do see right! Mr. S. N. Goenka - right here in mandalay! wow - now for those of you who have no clue who this guy is - let me enlighten you a bit: he is a (the) teacher of vipassana meditation in the tradition of the late sayagyi u ba khin of myanmar. he was born in myanmar and learned for 14 years with u ba khin. than he went to india. his teaching technique is traced back all the way to buddha. the Buddha never taught a sectarian religion; he taught Dhamma - the way to liberation - which is universal. so goenkas approach is also non-sectarian. here is a real video of the guy talking about vipassana meditation.
