Winter 2004/05 - Thailand II

good morning princess!

for those of you with a good eye - no those 7 bottles on the porch where not filled with sang thip - we had local herb whiskey - one with 9 and one with 11 herbs!

today i unveil you with another phenomenon of pai: the bike!
they come in 4 different sizes 80, 100, 110 and 125 ccm engines, with or without disc brakes. they speed up to 125 km/h - at last that is what the clock says. so if you go - better with disk brakes!
now - a push bike is 100 bath a day (2 €) and a bike starts at 80 bath a day, 100 for the 125! they go on 1-2 liters for 100 km - depends how you drive. gas is 24 a litre. so most of the tourists and a lot of the locals have a bike.
as for the farangs - i guess most of them do not even drive push-bikes back home - you might call pai the town of the walking wounded. you will never see so many people bandaged, hoppling and in pain (unless you are in some sort of war zone). and sorry girls - 95% of them are girls!

these bikes are everywhere - but here are some of them driving in front of the supermarket

one of the last.....
